Nov/Dec/Jan - Mason Lacrosse Club offers optional indoor practices at Wall 2 Wall in Mason (there is an addtional cost for these winter indoor practice sessions.  Participation is highly encouraged)

March thru early/mid May - Outdoor practices and Regular season games

Practices and Games:

Regular season practice days and times are based on coach’s availability.  Practice and game schedules are released as soon as available (typically in February).   Below are general guides on practices and games:

  • Youth Girls (grades K-2) - Practices are usually once per week. Coaches strive to balance fun, instruction and game situations for the girls. Southern Ohio does not have any formal leagues for our girls K-2 program however the coaching staff does coordinate with other local K-2 programs to hold 4-6 weekends of games.   Games are typically held on Sunday afternoons in April/early May.
  • Youth Girls (grades 3-6) - Practices at the youth level are typically 1- 2 times per week on weeknights with all Youth Girls games generally played on Saturdays.  Most youth girls teams will play 10 regular season games.   At the coaches discretion, youth teams may particiapte in several optional tournaments in the fall and spring
  • Middle School Girls (grades 7-8) – Practices and games are typically during the weekday evenings. Practices are 2-3 times per week.   Games are usually played on Monday and Wednesday evenings with occasional Sunday afternoon games.  MS girls will have 14-18 regular season games   MS teams will compete in optional tournaments in the fall, winter and spring

Please Note:  Lacrosse tournament participation and the optional winter indoor practices are not included in the Mason Lacrosse Club registration fees. (NOTE: Your coaching staff and MLC Board strives to keep tournament and optional indoor practice fees as low as possible. Most families find these events to be a very good value!)

What To Wear

Dress for the weather!  In the early part of the season it is COLD.  Many age groups will begin outdoor practices at the end of February.  Dress in layers.  Occasionally, we can have a practice or game in rain or muddy conditions.  Parents…be prepared to take your child home covered in mud (keep a blanket and garbage bags in the car).

For games, players will wear uniforms consisting of jerseys & kilt type skirts. In the early season games which are cold & muddy, long sleeves or leggings can be worn. Any visible clothing undert the uniform should be white, black, grey or Mason green.  Prints or patterns should be kept to a minimum. Crazy colored socks are always in style!
As the season progresses, the weather changes dramatically and warms up.  Dress accordingly for the day’s weather and always be prepared for weather changes.  Make sure your daughter has an adequate amount of water at every practice & game to stay well hydrated.
